Norwell 65, Southern Wells 40

The 3A number 10 ranked Norwell girls basketball team seems to be peaking at just the right time, moving to 16-4 on the season and tromping Southern Wells and Adams Central in the last two games of the season.

The Knights were led by Haley Chaney with 18 points. Andrea Vogel ended up with 14 points and seven rebounds. Allee Donaghy also chipped in with 10 points.

“They’re the NHC (Northeast Hoosier Conference) champion for a reason. They are a pretty good team. They are the best team that we’ve played all year,” said Fouts.

“I didn’t think for the most part that our effort was too bad. We’ve not played a team like that and that’s good for us. I think the good news is that going into the tournament we’re not going to find another like (Norwell) for another two weeks. I think if we take care of business that we can play for a couple more weeks,” he added.

Also,

In the junior varsity game, Norwell beat the Raiders 47-16 behind 12 points from Kelsey Kline and 11 by Alyssa Smith. Caitlyn Ailor added eight, Kali Herndon four, Amanda McAfee four, Breanna Wilson two, Kyra Raines two, Brittany Schumm two and Caitlyn McGrew two.

Great season, Girls!
