Bluffton Squeaks by Leo

Bluffton 54, Leo 53 in a scorebook error overtime game. Bluffton remains undefeated, 17-0 and wins the ACAC regular-season championship.

Just as the Tigers were making a run and seemed to get within one at the end of three quarters, the officials met with the official scorekeeper and decided the score was tied at 34 instead of 35-34 in Leo's favor.

The scorekeepers ruled Taylor Pufahl made only 1 of 2 free throws toward the end of the third after he clearly made 2 of 2. Although both scorebooks were checked and had Pufhal making 1 of 2, only the home scorebook is considered official.

"It really wasn't one play that got us beat," Cogdell said.

Videotape after the game confirmed Pufahl made both foul shots. An appeal could be made to the IHSAA.

"I don't know if there is anything we can do about it," Cogdell said. "It is a tough thing when both scorebooks are wrong."

What was it Mr. Dormire used to say to the Tennis team? "The better you are, the luckier you get."
