Norwell, and Chaney in particular, would ensure that East Noble would get no closer. The 5-10 junior had a hand in every point in Norwell’s 8-0 run to close out the first half, notching a pair of assists to accompany a three-pointer as the Knights of Ossian took a 16-point advantage into the locker room.
Chaney finished game-highs in points (24), rebounds (nine), assists (four) and steals (eight).
“Chaney has the ability to do that,” Thornton said. “She got hot tonight, and I thought she was just really aggressive and attacking the basket.”
Congratulations, girls!
