A sad day indeed.
It's a sad day for radio listeners in northeast Indiana and across the country. Legendary WOWO Radio morning talk show host Bob Siever's has died.
He was known by many as "Mr. Woe-Woe". Bob Sievers just celebrated his 90th birthday two weeks ago. The radio pioneer passed away Monday morning from health complications. Sievers had been ill for the past few months.
The radio legend spent nearly 50 years working for WOWO Radio, 1190 am. He began his career there in high school and eventually became the morning announcer, hosting the regionally-popular "Little Red Barn morning show." Sievers retired in 1987.
He was honored by the Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame and Lions Club International. This past summer, Bob Sievers was nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame. He didn't receive that nod, but those close to him say his influence and legacy as a radio broadcaster in our area will forever go unmatched.
