His Day in Court

A nine-year-old Indiana boy, blinded when he was five in an accident caused by a drunk driver, read a statement (written in braille) in court.

"I don't know what my family looks like anymore," said Christopher Avila, bringing many in the Lake County courtroom to tears Thursday. Tracy Mays almost killed me."

Mays, 39, of Gary, who had pleaded guilty to drunken driving causing bodily injury, was sentenced to four years in prison for the crime.

A real courtroom drama which sounds much more dramatic than the fake ones on TV.
