A nice article about Ryan Baker and his dad (and Sevens member) Tim getting Ryan started in the family business.
Father and son work together but keep their land operations separate. They have calculated all of the per-acre costs of the corn, soybean and wheat grown and harvested. From that, Baker pays his father what he's responsible for, and then the two work together. Before you know it, the Bakers are going to be getting that 100 year Hoosier Homesteader farming award.
"It cuts his risk a little, but it gives him a way to get into the business," Tim Baker said.
The son said without his father's guidance and assistance, he couldn't follow his dream of farming.
